Description

Lower Gotham Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse with attached barns, a garden wall, and railings. It is constructed of rubble limestone, partly rendered, with gritstone dressings. The roof is covered with plain tiles and features brick gable end stacks and two brick ridge stacks. The farmhouse has two storeys and a south elevation with five bays.

From left to right, there is a 2-light square section flush mullion window with a similar window above it. Next is a 19th-century gabled porch that contains a six-panelled door, with the top two panels being glazed. To the right, there is another 2-light square section flush mullion window with a similar window above. Following that is a doorway with a stone surround and a plank door, along with another 2-light mullion window above it. To the right, a small 19th-century window with a stone sill is present, along with a doorway that has a stone lintel and quoins, featuring stable-type doors. Above, there are two 2-light square section flush mullion windows.

A low 19th-century wall and railings are present at the house part. All windows have aluminium casements, except for those in the attached barn, which have lower wooden casements and fixed leaded lights. The barns are located at the west and east ends of the property.
