Description
Upperhouse Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in 1779, with later alterations. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with gritstone dressings and features gritstone quoins on the west side. The roof is slate with a stone ridge, and there are stone gable end and ridge stacks. The building has two storeys and three bays.
On the south elevation, there are two 2-light flush mullion windows on the east side. To the west, there are two flush doorcases with quoined surrounds, both featuring 20th-century plank doors. The doorcase on the east is inscribed with 'BP 1779'. Next to the doors on the west side is a 19th-century 3-light flush mullion window. Above these, there are similar windows arranged in the same way. All the windows have 20th-century single pane leaded casements.
