Description
Bank House is a coaching inn that has been converted into a farmhouse. It was built in the early 19th century, with a datestone on a later porch indicating the year 1850. The building is made of rendered stone with gritstone dressings and quoins, featuring a coursed squared limestone porch. It has a hipped plain tile roof with leaded ridges, stone side walls, and gable end stacks that have plain bands. The gables are stone coped with plain kneelers on the rear roof and porch, and there is a plain eaves band.
The west elevation consists of three bays and three storeys. The central feature is a gabled porch with large quoins, which contains a centrally placed plain sash window in a flush surround, topped with a dripmould. Above this window is a stone plaque displaying an armorial shield and the inscription 'TOB 1850'. A ball and steeple gable finial sits atop the porch. On either side of the porch are glazing bar sash windows in plain surrounds, and there are three similar windows above them. Additionally, there are three shallower windows at the eaves, and to the south, there are 2-light flush mullion windows on each floor.
