Description
The stableblock, now used as a farm building, was constructed around 1795 for the Duke of Devonshire. It is made of rendered limestone rubble with gritstone dressings and quoins, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The building features four bays and stands two storeys high. There is a single light flush window at the extreme west, while the eastern side has a double quoined doorcase with a higher western door and a single quoined door to the east. Another similar door is located on the further side of the double quoined doorcase to the east. Additionally, there is a brick lean-to at the extreme east, above which are three flush surround hayloft openings. This structure is included for its group value.
