Description
Cottage Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in 1759. It is constructed from coursed rubble limestone with gritstone dressings and features a plain tile roof with stone coped gables and moulded kneelers. The building has brick stacks at the ridge and gable ends and is two storeys high. Notable architectural details include chamfered quoins and a concave eaves band.
The south elevation has two bays and is double fronted. There is a central doorway with a stone surround, a tall lintel with a moulded keystone, and a dripmould. Above the doorway is a moulded stone panel inscribed with "W/G:A/1759." The doorway has a 20th-century half-glazed door. On either side of the doorway are three-light square section flush mullion windows with a sill band, featuring wooden casements and fixed lights. There are two similar windows above on the upper storey.
