Description

This is an early 19th-century lime kiln located on the east side of the High Peak Trail in Ballidon. It is constructed from rubble limestone and stands approximately fifteen feet tall, built into a cutting in the hillside. The kiln has a U-shaped plan and features a semi-circular opening that is partly closed up, with the next charge ready for charging.
