Description
The Hollies Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse constructed from roughly-coursed limestone rubble, featuring brick dressings and rendered brick stacks. The roof is primarily covered with pantiles, while the lower section on the left has concrete tiles. The building is two storeys high and has three symmetrical bays, with a low two-storey, two-bay section to the left.
The central entrance consists of a plain board door with a plain overlight, set within a wooden architrave beneath a stucco flat arch. The windows are 16-pane sashes in flush wooden surrounds, each with stucco flat arches and cills, with the window above the entrance being slightly narrower. The lower section to the left has stone steps leading to a board door under a segmental brick arch, a large casement window to the left with glazing bars under a segmental brick arch, and a 20th-century 12-pane casement window on the first floor.
The farmhouse features stepped brick eaves and stone-coped gables with shaped kneelers, along with end stacks. The right return has a brick gable and a pointed-arch attic window, which is partially blocked, showing four panes below. Inside, there is an open well staircase with a closed string, a moulded handrail, and column-on-vase balusters with square knops. The interior also includes fielded-panel doors and panelled reveals to the first-floor windows.
