Description

Glebe Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse with an extension dated 1820, and later 19th-century additions to the rear, along with 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with brick dressings and stacks, and has a concrete pantile roof. The farmhouse has two storeys and four windows on the first floor. It features quoins, with former quoins and matching rusticated brick dressings around the entrance bay, which is located to the right of centre. The entrance is framed by a surround from the 1970s, featuring fluted pilasters supporting an entablature and hood, and contains a six-panel door with sidelights containing glazing bars. Large 12-pane sashes are set in flush wooden surrounds, each beneath a stucco cambered arch. A dentilled brick cornice runs along the top. There are axial and end stacks, and a brick coped and tumbled gable on the right. A datestone is set into the gable on the right-hand side. Inside, the staircase has a moulded handrail and plain balusters.
