Description

Longroods Farmhouse and its attached outbuildings and garden walls date from the early 19th century, with an addition made in 1861. The structure is built from coursed limestone rubble with gritstone dressings and features quoins on the west side. It has a stone slate roof with stone coped gables and plain kneelers, along with two stone gable end stacks and a central stone ridge stack.

The farmhouse is two storeys high and has three bays. The central entrance has a flush doorcase with a bracketed stone, moulded hood. On the eastern side, there are two glazing bar sashes in flush surrounds, while the western side features two adjoining glazing bar sashes that create a 2-light flush mullion window. Above these, there are three additional glazing bar sashes in flush surrounds.

To the east, there is an adjoining outbuilding with a fixed small pane window on the west and a low eaved lean-to on the east. In front of the house, there is a limestone rubble garden wall topped with rounded gritstone copings, and 19th-century railings are attached to the south. At the rear of the house, there is a porch with a datestone inscribed 'WL 1861'.
