Description
Yew Tree Cottage is an early 19th-century farmhouse located in Biggin, within the parish of Hartington Nether Quarter. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with gritstone dressings and quoins, topped with a slate roof featuring a stone ridge. It has stone gable end stacks that include plain banding, and the gable walls are adorned with moulded stone copings and kneelers. The cottage is two storeys high and consists of two bays. The entrance features an off-centre doorcase with plain jambs and a narrow lintel, leading to a 20th-century glazed door. On either side of the door, there are two-light flush mullion windows with moulded surrounds, and two similar windows are located above. All the windows are 19th-century casements.
