Description

FYLINGDALES KING STREET NZ 9504 Robin Hood's Bay (west side) 19/109 Bank House and Bank House 6.10.69. Cottage (formerly listed as Bank House)

GV II 2 houses. Early C19 front on rear wing of circa 1700. Front finely-tooled and margined sandstone; coursed sandstone rear wing. Pantiled roofs, wide stone coping and kneeler at front, stone stack. 2 storeys and attic, 1 wide bay. 6- panel door at right. 16-pane sash window, with projecting cill on each floor at left. Small skylight in roof with left end coping and kneeler, corniced stone stack. Passage at right with doorway to Bank House Cottage opening off. Long left rear wing of 2 storeys, 4 bays, very irregular. On ground floor an 18-pane fixed light with central opening section; first floor early C19 12-pane sashes. Small window in original chamfered opening at left; and walls show traces of older, probably stone-mullioned, windows.
