Description
Leaf's Shop and Muir Lea is a house and shop that dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed from herringbone-tooled coursed sandstone and features a pantiled roof with stone copings, kneelers, and chimney stacks. The building has four storeys and two irregular bays. The shop front is of early 19th-century design, with a central door flanked by windows. The first and second floors have mid-19th-century sash windows with vertical bars, while the top floor has smaller sashes, all of which have slightly projecting stone cills. There are chimneys bonded with a cornice at each end. A top-glazed six-panel house door is located on the left return, set under an archway leading to The Bolts, and there is a small wood porch. Above the passage wall, there is a small attic sash window. The building is included for its group value.
