Description
Danby Post Office is a house and shop that consists of two sections built in the 18th century and mid-19th century, with a later 19th-century shop addition. The building is constructed from coursed squared tooled sandstone and features a renewed pantiled roof with stone copings, kneelers, and stacks. It is two storeys high, with two bays on the left and two bays on the right, plus a 20th-century projecting shop front that is one tall storey and located in the right part, which is older and lower. The shop front includes a 20th-century glazed door and a small fixed light to the left, along with a 20th-century casement window above. There are also two small windows with chamfered surrounds on the right return. The left part of the building has renewed sash windows with glazing bars and projecting cills. The building features block kneelers and corniced end chimneys, as well as a small lean-to extension on the right. A brick rear lean-to is not of interest.
