Description
Holly House and the attached stable are mid-18th century structures, representing the last remaining building from a row of cottages. The house is made of roughly-coursed squared sandstone and features a pantiled roof with stone copings and kneelers, as well as brick and stone chimneys. It has two storeys and two windows. The central entrance is a boarded door set within a flush alternating-block surround. The windows are tripartite, with a central opening section and chamfered surrounds, likely missing their original mullions. The house has block kneelers and a swept roof with a corniced chimney on the left end and a rebuilt brick chimney on the right.
The small stable to the left is constructed from similar materials but lacks gable copings and kneelers. This stable belongs to Mr. Gates at the Post Office and is included for its group value with the house.
