Description
Fielding's Shop and Leaf's Shop is a house and shops located on Fylingdales New Road, dating from the early to mid-18th century, with later shop fronts. The building features a mix of rough herringbone-tooled sandstone and finer, lightly-tooled masonry. It has a pantiled roof with a stone ridge, a brick stack, and dormers. The structure is two storeys high with an attic and consists of four narrow bays.
The entrance is an off-centre half-glazed two-leaf shop door, accompanied by an early 19th-century shop window on the left and a Yorkshire sash window on the right. On the first floor, there is an 8-pane 18th-century sash window above the door, framed by longer pilaster jambs that indicate a former loading door, along with three Yorkshire sash windows—one to the left and two to the right. The building has a coved eaves course, and the dormers contain 12-pane lights with 4-pane bottom left opening sections. The shop premises extend to the left into the ground floor of Muir Lea.
