Description
The Bolts House, dating from the late 18th century, is located on the west side of Fylingdales New Road in Robin Hood's Bay. This house is constructed of tooled-and-margined sandstone and features a pantiled roof with stone copings, kneelers, and a stack. It has two storeys and a basement, with two bays, the right bay above the entrance passage to The Bolts.
The basement entrance consists of a half-glazed door with bars, accompanied by a small fixed light to the left. On the ground floor, there is one 16-pane sash window, and the first floor has two similar sash windows, both with slightly-projecting cills. The house displays prominent moulded kneelers and a left banded stone stack. The right return under the arch features a four-panel door and a small fixed light. Surrounding the entrance to The Bolts, low walls of four courses with chamfered coping enclose a small forecourt.
