Description
Number 2, also known as Maryondale Cottage, and the Chip Shop, is a house from the mid-19th century located on Albion Street in Robin Hood's Bay. It is constructed from coursed pecked sandstone, with a red brick left return. The building features a pantiled roof adorned with stone copings and kneelers, along with brick chimney stacks.
The structure has three storeys and three wide bays. On the left side, there is a segment-arched carriage entrance that now serves as a shop. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door topped with a four-pane overlight and a bracketed cornice. To the right, there is a passage door with a similar overlight, and between the doors is a four-pane pivoted window. The upper floors are fitted with 16-pane sash windows, all featuring stone cills. Raking dormers with four-pane casements are present, and there is coping and a kneeler on the right side. The end chimneys are present, with the right chimney having been rebuilt.
