Description
Primrose and Primrose Flat is a house divided into two flats, located on Albion Street in Robin Hood's Bay. It dates from the mid-19th century and is constructed from herringbone-tooled coursed sandstone, topped with a pantiled roof that features stone coping and a kneeler, along with brick chimney stacks. The building has three storeys and two wide bays.
The central entrance to Primrose is a modern six-panel door. To the right, there is a modern small-paned casement window set in a neatly-filled shop front space, and a smaller similar window to the left. The upper floors have 16-pane sash windows with projecting cills. The right end of the building has coping and a kneeler, with end chimneys, one of which has been rebuilt.
An external stone stair leads to Primrose Flat, which has a six-panel door and a modern casement window to the right. The rear elevation is only one storey high and features two 16-pane sashes, one shuttered window, and two hooded doors.
