Description
The Sweet Shop, formerly known as Robin Hood Cafe and Shop, is a house with a shop that likely dates from the early 19th century and has been altered over time. It features incised rendered walls and a pantiled roof with a brick chimney. The building has a gable end facing the road and consists of two storeys and an attic with one wide bay. The shop front includes a central door flanked by windows, all under a cornice supported by shaped brackets. On the first floor, there is an early 20th-century four-light window with small panes above the transom. The attic contains a Yorkshire sash window. The left side of the building has an irregular arrangement of windows, some of which are transomed like those at the front. A chimney is located on the rear gable end. The building is included for its group value.
