Description

Fisherman’s Cottage is a house, dated 1860 above the door, and significantly altered. It was formerly the Fisherman’s Arms Public House. The building has rendered walls and a pantiled roof with a brick stack, a stone ridge, and gable coping. It is a three-story and attic building with a gable end facing the road, featuring a single wide bay. A 20th-century door is located on the right side, and a three-light casement window is on the left. A large, offset chimney stack projects from the left side, rising just above the eaves. The first floor has two long sixteen-pane casement windows with stone sills. The second floor has a two-light 20th-century casement window, both ground and second floor casements having wooden lintels and sills. A very small inserted light is located to the right of the chimney. The ridge stack is set back from the gable peak. The building is included on the list for its group value.
