Description
The premises of Tony Straw, builder, is a house with business premises dating from the mid-19th century, located on King Street in Robin Hood's Bay. It is constructed from herringbone-tooled coursed sandstone and features a pantiled roof with a stone ridge, coping, and kneeler, along with a brick stack. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. The central entrance consists of a door with three panels, flanked by blank window panels. To the right, there is a small slatted opening, and to the left, a small high casement window, with a half-glazed door with four panels at the far left. On the first floor, there are three 12-pane sash windows set in wooden architraves with stone cills. The centre of the first floor displays a coat-of-arms and the motto: "AMICITIA AMOR ET VERITAS." The building also features prominent coping, a kneeler, and a rebuilt chimney at the left end.
