Description
Dock Cottage is a house from the late 17th century that has undergone some alterations. It features incised rendered walls and a pantiled roof with stone copings and kneelers, along with a brick stack. The building has two storeys, an attic, and a basement. The canted gable end facing New Road includes a basement door and a round window on the ground floor, while the rest of that side is blank. The main front, which faces The Dock, has one wide bay with irregular openings. On the right side, there are six stone steps leading up to a top-glazed six-panel door located in the left return of a pent porch extension, which also has a small front window. The ground and first floors feature replaced 16-pane sash windows, while the attic has a late 19th-century 12-pane sash. The first-floor window is flanked by two small roundels, and there is a sign bracket to the left. The building has a ridge stack and block kneelers. It is included for its group value.
