Description
Little John House is a house built in two phases, dating from the 18th century with an early 19th-century top storey. It is constructed of coursed sandstone, finely-tooled at the lower level and herringbone-tooled above. The roof is pantiled, featuring stone copings, kneelers, and stacks. The building has three storeys and one wide bay, with a plinth and a gable end facing the street.
There are steps on the right leading up to a recessed modern half-glazed door. To the left, there is a 16-pane sash window. Above, there are Yorkshire sashes with projecting cills, including a 24-pane window on the first floor and a 16-pane window on the second floor. The flat gable coping has rolled kneelers. The left return of the house is canted back at the rear and is mostly blank, except for a 16-pane sash on the ground floor and a 24-pane Yorkshire sash above, both located at the extreme right. There are two cornice-banded chimneys at the eaves level.
