Description

This is a milepost located approximately 150 metres east of Spring Cottage and Greystones in Oldstead, North Yorkshire. It dates from the late 19th century and is made of cast iron. The milepost has a triangular shape. The left side indicates a distance of 7 miles to Thirsk, while the right side shows a distance of 7 miles to Helmsley. The sloping upper face is marked with the initials "NRYCC."
