Milepost. Late C19. Made by Mattisons of Bedale. Cast-iron. Triangular section with sloping upper surface. Inscriptions. Left face: "Helmsley 7 miles" below pointing hand. Right face: "York 16 miles" below pointing hand. Sloping upper face: "Ryedale H.D.". Manufacturers' name to rear.
