Description

This milepost, located approximately 159 metres north-east of the junction with the C61 road, dates from the late 19th century. It was made by Mattisons of Bedale and is constructed from cast iron. The milepost has a triangular section with a sloping upper face. On the left side, it features the inscription "Malton 7 miles," accompanied by a pointing hand, while the right side displays "York 11 miles," also with a pointing hand. The reverse side includes the manufacturer's name.
