Description
This is a milepost located approximately 100 metres south-east of South Farm, dating from the late 19th century. It was made by Mattisons of Bedale and is constructed from cast iron. The milepost has a triangular shape with a sloping upper surface. On the left face, it features the inscription "Malton 10 miles" beneath a pointing hand, while the right face displays "Helmsley 6 miles" beneath a similar pointing hand. The manufacturer's name is found on the rear of the milepost.
