Description

Park View is a house that was formerly two houses, located on the north side of Askham The Green. The entrances are dated 'ME/1712' and '1732', although the initials are illegible. The building is constructed of roughcast stone with dressed stone for the outbuilding, and it has slate roofs. It stands two storeys high and features five bays, with the second and third bays being taller than the others. To the right is the outbuilding.

The windows vary in style and include small-paned casements. On the ground floor, the first bay has a three-light casement that was once a cart entrance, the third bay features a three-light flat mullioned window, and the fourth bay has tall paired windows. The first floor includes a three-light window in the third bay and a horizontally sliding sash. The entrance to the second bay has chamfered reveals and is dated 1732. There is an entrance between the third and fourth bays, which is now a window but bears the date 1712. The entrance to the fifth bay has a glazed door. The building has two gable-end stacks and a cross-axial stack.

The outbuilding features a large segmental-pointed entrance with later wider doors and two small-paned casements. The rear of the building has a wing with an asymmetrical gable, and the return side has a casement window with a Tudor arch and spandrels.
