Description

Rose Cottage and the adjoining houses are located on School Hill in Askham. The houses, dated 1819, feature incised render beneath a graduated greenslate roof and have banded limestone chimney stacks. Each house is three storeys high and consists of a single bay. They have plank doors and a 20th-century door set in painted stone surrounds, along with sash windows that include glazing bars, also framed in painted stone. The cottage, dated 1763, has painted rendered walls resting on a projecting boulder plinth and a graduated greenslate roof with rendered chimney stacks. It features a central 20th-century door within its original painted stone surrounds. The garage on the right is not of interest.
