Description
The Queen's Head Inn is a public house that was originally two houses, dated and inscribed as "T&AN 1682," although the correct date is actually 1762. The building features painted rough-cast walls made of outer limestone rubble with quoins, and it is topped with a graduated green slate roof that has painted-render chimney stacks.
It stands two storeys high with three bays on each side under a common roof. There is a two-storey extension at the rear and a single-storey lean-to extension at the right angle. Central to both houses are double 20th-century doors set in a painted stone surround, which is sheltered by a 20th-century gabled wooden porch. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, and one central window in the right house is situated in a partly blocked doorway that has a dated lintel, all framed in painted stone surrounds.
