Description

Sawmill Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with occasional red sandstone blocks, featuring flush quoins and pink sandstone dressings. The roof is made of graduated greenslate and has rendered and banded stone chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with a pent extension on the right side. The central door is from the 20th century, and there are casement windows in original stone surrounds, with all ground floor openings set under relieving arches. Additionally, there is a 19th-century lean-to extension that includes a large casement window in a plain reveal.
