Description

This is a row of six cottages built on a hillside terrace in Ambleside. The cottages are known as Fairview Cottage, The Cottage, and Nos 3 to 6. Originally, Fairview Cottage had dry slate walls, while the others were colour-washed. All the cottages are two storeys high. Most have modern doors, some with small, modern timber porches. They feature sash windows with 6 or 12 panes. The cottages, along with several other nearby buildings including St Anne’s Court, Ash Tree Cottage, the Old School House, and a barn, form a notable group.
