Description

Albert Moore's Barn is a barn dating from the 17th century or earlier. It features two surviving bays of an open cruck timber frame, which includes collar and tie beams, a yoked ridge, and side purlins with curved braces supported by outer blades. The barn is set in random rubble walls that have 20th-century pebble dash rendering on the exterior. It is a single storey building with a pitched roof made of Westmorland green slate, which is torched. There are two modern cart entrances. Additionally, there is a 19th-century farmhouse attached to the gable end of the barn, which closes off the original semi-circular pitching eye and has plastered chamfered reveals.
