Description

Ash Tree Cottage is a building that may date back to the 16th century. It features very thick walls made of stone rubble and has a slate roof, standing at two low storeys. The exterior is now colour-washed. The front of the cottage has a boarded door and a modern timber porch. There are two windows on the ground floor and three above, which contain either 16 or 20 panes, along with new small-paned casements. A slate dripstone runs over the entire ground floor. A large stepped chimney projects from the right-hand end wall.

Ash Tree Cottage is part of a group that includes St Anne's Court, the Old School House, Nos 1 to 5 (consecutive), and a barn attached to the Old School House, as well as The Cottage, Fairview Cottage, Nos 3 to 6 (consecutive), Raesbeck, Little Beck, and Ashton Cottage on Fair View Road.
