Description
Ashton Cottage, located on Fair View Road in Raesbeck, is a late 17th century small stone cottage featuring an old flag roof. The building has modern doors with gable hoods and stands two storeys tall. The front of Raesbeck includes two 16-paned sash windows on the ground floor and three above. Ashton Cottage has two small square windows on each floor, although the glazing bars have been removed. Little Beck serves as the rear wing of Raesbeck. Ashton Cottage is part of a group that includes The Cottage, Fairview Cottage, Nos 3 to 6 (consecutive), Raesbeck, Little Beck, and Ashton Cottage, along with St Anne's Court, Ash Tree Cottage, Old School House, and Nos 1 to 5 (consecutive) and the barn attached to Old School House on Chapel Hill.
