Description

Beck Cottage, built in the early 19th century, is a house that consists of two sections. It is constructed from coursed herringbone-tooled sandstone and features a pantiled roof with stone ridge, copings, and kneelers, along with a brick chimney stack. The building is two storeys high and has a symmetrical façade with two bays on each side. The right part of the house has a Victorian four-panel door located in the left bay. To the right of this door, there are 16-pane sash windows on both floors, set back in wooden box frames. There is a late 19th century or early 20th century casement window on the first floor to the left.

In the left bay of the left section, there are boarded garage doors beneath a wooden lintel that features a carved mask. A modern cross casement window is located on the right side, with a similar casement window above it. There is also a fixed light window with glazing bars in the top right. The right side of the building has a curved kneeler and an offset end chimney, while the left side features a block kneeler.

The rear elevation, which faces the river, is taller with three storeys and a basement. It is mostly blank except for a small basement window and a small modern window on the first floor. There is a small lean-to extension on the south side, which includes a Yorkshire sash window on the end.
