Description
Ewden is a house that possibly dates back to the early 19th century. It features re-used stone, with some plain and some having different toolings, arranged in uneven courses. The roof is pantiled with a stone ridge, copings, and kneelers, along with a brick stack. The attic is covered with Welsh slates. The right bay and attic have been recently raised and rendered. The main part of the house has two storeys and an attic, with two bays, while there is a two-storey, one-bay extension on the right.
The entrance on the left has a Victorian six-panel door, which is top-glazed and situated under a bracketed cornice hood. To the right, there is a former shop window with three lights below and six above, flanked by fluted pilasters and topped with a bracketed cornice hood. On the first floor, there are two 20th-century windows. The wide, rendered attic features a four-light casement window. The copings are set on very rough kneelers, with the right side and chimney also having copings. The slightly set-back right bay includes a modern plate-glass window in an old doorway, a small sash window to the right, and a modern window above. The building is included for its group value.
