Sited on a depressed segmental stone arch of about 15 ft span (house is about 10ft square). Slate steps down to stream bed from the front of the house. Rydal Road front has 2 boarded doors - one up 2 steps, the other up a spiral flight of 8 steps, with a slate landing forming a porch to lower door. Deep overhanging eaves on old timbers. Interior has low ceiling beams, iron fireplace with oven, grate etc. For group reference see General group description under Rydal Road.
