Description

This is a row of six cottages located on Weir Pond Road, Rochford, dating from the 19th century. The cottages are timber-framed and clad in weatherboarding, with a grey slate roof. They feature gault brick chimney stacks on the right and left ends, and bargeboards on the gable returns. The cottages are two storeys high, with a four-window front featuring small-paned vertically sliding sash windows. The ground floor windows have pentice boards. There are doorways at the ends of the row and in the centre, each with simple surrounds, friezes, and flat canopies supported by brackets. The central doorways each have two vertical toplights; the right-hand door has four panels, with the top panels having round heads, while the left-hand door is a 20th-century replacement.
