Description

22 East Street is a house with a shop, possibly dating from the 17th century or earlier, which was remodeled in the 19th century. The front is rendered, likely over a timber frame, and designed to resemble masonry. It has a slated roof and a 19th-century red-brick chimney on the left gable end. The building has two storeys and is two windows wide. The ground floor features a late 19th-century shop front that includes a cart entrance on the right. This shop front is supported by five pilasters and has an entablature with a dentilled cornice and bracketed blocks at each end. The upper storey windows are six-paned sashes set in moulded flush frames.
