Description
The boundary wall, gates, and gate piers to Shuthonger House date from the 19th century. The wall is made of brick and has a length of approximately 55 meters, curving along the property. It features gate piers at both ends, which are likely made of rendered brick. The wall stands about 1.5 meters high and is topped with a moulded grey brick capping. It ramps up towards the gate piers, which have sunken panelled decoration on each side and moulded cappings with ball finials. The main entrances are marked by double spear-headed wrought-iron gates that curve down towards the center and showcase ornate wrought-ironwork at the base. The piers next to the single-width entrance have a similar but simpler design compared to those at the main entrances.
