Description
The yard wall with gate piers to the east of Shaw House Farmhouse dates from the early 19th century. The wall is constructed of coursed rubble, while the gate piers are made of tooled-and-margined cut stone. There are two pairs of piers, each featuring a chamfered plinth, a chamfered band, and cross-gabled caps that support boarded gates. The wall has roughly-arched coping that connects the gateways and continues to the north, curving in at the end.
