Description
Bugatti Cottage and The Corner Cupboard at Wick Hill Farm is a former coach house that has been converted into two dwellings. It was built in the mid to late 19th century by Lord Ellenborough. The structure is made of coursed squared and dressed limestone with a slate roof and an ashlar stack. It has a rectangular plan with symmetrical outshuts under swept roofs and stands two storeys tall.
The gable end faces the lane and the farmhouse, featuring three segmental-headed double-width entrances. The two central arches are now blocked and partly glazed, while there are double plank doors at the remaining arch and a segmental-headed plank door to the left. A segmental-headed window is flanked by ventilation slits, with an additional ventilation slit towards the apex of the gable. Below the apex is the Edward Ellenborough monogram. The building also has two and three-light stone-mullioned casements, with one mullion removed at the opposite gable end. There are two large four-light rooflights and one five-light rooflight, along with flat coping to the gable ends and a gable-end stack. The interior has not been inspected.
