Description
The Lodge is a former lodge to the Ellenborough Park Hotel, dating from the mid-19th century. It is constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone, with an artificial stone slate roof and ashlar stacks. The building has an 'L'-shaped plan and is 1 to 1½ storeys high. The south front, facing the A46, features twin dormers. On the ground floor, there is one single-light and one three-light hollow-chamfered stone-mullioned casement window. The first floor has two two-light hollow-chamfered stone-mullioned casements, all with stopped hoods. The west-facing gable end includes a two-light stone-mullioned casement and a 19th-century studded plank door with decorative hinges, set within a moulded Tudor-arched surround. The gable end has stepped coping and gable-end stacks, with a twin diagonal stack, of which only one shaft remains. The interior has not been inspected.
