Description

Byways is a 17th-century cottage featuring square-panelled timber framing with tension bracing and painted brick infill, as well as coursed squared and dressed limestone. The building has a rectangular plan and is 1½ storeys high. The ground floor includes three 20th-century single-light casements, one 2-light casement, one 4-light casement, and one 4-light oriel. There is a 19th-century three-light oriel on the upper left. A 20th-century glass door is set within a 20th-century part-glazed porch located off-centre to the right. The cottage has a projecting gable end, an axial stack, and an off-the-ridge stack. The interior has not been inspected.
