Description
A house dating from the 16th century, with later additions. The house is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, with a stone slate roof and ashlar stacks. It has a complex plan, comprising a main rectangular block with extensions at right angles. The house is one, two, and two stories high, with an attic. The east front features the gable end of the main body centrally, a two-story wing to the left, and a single-story extension to the right. Windows are stone mullioned casements, some with Tudor-arched heads, and include single-light, two, three, and four-light openings; a three-light stone-mullioned casement with a bull's-eye is located in the central gable. The south front has 19th or early 20th-century stone mullioned casements, also with some Tudor-arched heads. A bow window with a double-glazed door set within a Tudor-arched surround is flanked by stone-mullioned casements with Tudor-arched heads, all with leaded panes. The building has flat gable end coping and gable-end stacks. The interior has not been inspected. Group value is present due to its historical significance.
