Description
Kivinley is a cottage located on Maisemore Main Road, dating from the 17th century with an enlargement in the 18th century and minor alterations in the late 19th century. It features brick-nogged timber framing, a stone plinth, and a tiled roof. The building consists of two bays and is one and a half storeys high, with one room depth and a small extension at one corner. The timber framing has two panels high, with a straight brace from the right corner post to the wallplate facing the road. There is a 2-light casement window with an 8-pane horizontal window and a 4-pane window beyond, situated between the main post with angle braces to the wallplate. A boarded door is located on the left, along with another 2-light casement window with small panes. The right end has a half-hipped roof, while a large external brick chimney with offsets is positioned on the left. In front, there is a small projecting square wing with very thin framing on a brick plinth, long braces, and a boarded door on the right return; it also has a 2-light casement window to the front and a hipped roof on the left. The interior has not been inspected.
