Description
Bell House Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates back to the 16th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 20th centuries. It features brick-nogged timber-framing, with some parts rendered, and has a tiled roof. The building consists of three bays and is one and a half storeys tall, with a depth of one room. The gable faces the road, and the left return faces Main Road; the left section is rendered to accommodate the width of the chimney, while the right side has heavy framing that is two panels high. All windows have small panes, including two 2-light casements and paired 9-pane windows around the main post, with the upper part of a brace extending from the sill on the left. The right side has slighter framing, featuring a 20th-century door with a glazed top panel and a 3-light casement. Above, there are three flat-roofed 20th-century dormers, each with 3-light casements. The chimneys are located on the ridge of the left gable and behind the door. The rear wall is timber-framed with timbers of similar size throughout. The two bays at the left end have been demolished since 1920.
