Description
No. 15 Church Road is a cottage dating from the mid 17th century to early 18th century, which has been partly rebuilt or encased in brick in the 20th century. It features square-panelled timber framing with painted brick infill, some painted limestone rubble, and a west front made of brick. The thatched roof has an early brick stack and the building has a rectangular plan with one and a half storeys. The buttressed west front includes two 3-light 20th-century steel casements with horizontal glazing bars on the ground floor. There is an eyebrow dormer with a similar 20th-century casement on the upper left. A plank door is located at the left gable end, while the right gable end is now partly encased in brick and has a rendered gable with a 20th-century three-light steel casement above. The timber framing remains intact at the rear, and there is an off-the-ridge stack at the left gable end. The interior is not accessible. This cottage is prominently situated overlooking the church and churchyard.
