Description

HODNET C.P. DRAYTON ROAD (South-east SJ 6028-6128 side) 13/54 No. 22 - GV II

Cottage. Early C17. Timber framed with painted brick nogging on painted roughly dressed sandstone plinth, left-hand gable end rendered. Part of right-hand gable end rebuilt and extended in brick, painted to represent framing. Plain tile roof. Framing: square panels (3 from sole plate to wall plate) with short corner braces. 3 framed bays. One storey and attic. Brick ridge stack off-centre to right (rebuilt above ridge in C20) and brick stack just behind ridge off-centre to left. 3 large gabled timber framed eaves dormers with 3-light wooden casements and painted imitation trusses. 4-window front; 2-light wooden-framed metal casements. Boarded door between first and second windows from left with C20 gabled timber framed porch. Blocked C17 straight-sided arched doorway off-centre to right. Right-hand gable end underbuilt to tie beam; collar and tie-beam truss with queen struts and V-struts. C19 gabled wing at rear with external brick end stack. Interior not inspected.
